Free Your Mind. Forgive Yourself.

So many things to reflect on as the year comes to a close. If you are doing the big gift giving thing, here is my suggestion. Give yourself the gift of FORGIVENESS. You deserve nothing less. Forgive yourself.

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” -Lewis B. Smedes

I do not know when I learned that or truly "got" that one, but I do know it is true. It is not truly possible to move on with your life while you are holding a grudge. Forgiveness has less to do with the person you are upset with and has everything to do with YOU. Think about it. They have moved on with their life and are NOT using their valuable energy being upset. YOU on the other hand are reliving your anger and pain, sending your blood pressure up, and sending negative energy out into the universe which also comes back to you. So let it go. Move on and forgive.

Now of all the people you have been upset with... I KNOW you give yourself a really hard time. We are generally our own worst critics and bosses. We tend to be relentless in our demands and stingy with our praise. You had a lot of goals this year. You hit the target on some. Hooray! You did not even start others. Hooray! That means you already have your list ready for 2011. Good job.

Free your mind. Forgive yourself.

Whether you need to forgive yourself or you need to forgive someone else the only one impacted by you not being forgiving is you.

"Forgiveness is for YOU. Forgiveness is GOOD for your health. Forgiveness allows you to be more loving and joyful." -Iroc Kool

Free Your Mind. Forgive Yourself.

Just think of all the energy you will free up to do other things! Go. Be happy and productive… and while you are at it… Be gentle with your thoughts of self and others.

INjoy,
